Nowadays, many people like to spend their free time in shopping malls. They visit these places not only for buying things but also for meeting friends and relaxing. However, in the past, people went to shopping malls only when they needed something. This essay will discuss both views and give my opinion.
In modern times, shopping malls have become very popular for leisure activities. There are many facilities such as restaurants, cinemas, and gaming zones. People can enjoy different experiences in one place. For example, young people often go to malls to hang out with friends or watch movies. Also, families visit malls because they are safe and comfortable, especially in bad weather. Therefore, shopping malls are now seen as a convenient place for entertainment and also for playing games .
In the past, people visited shopping malls only when it was necessary. They usually went there to buy foods, clothes, or household items. Most people preferred to spend their free time outdoors, like in parks or visiting relatives and playing physical games . Life was simpler, and people did not spend much money on entertainment. Some people believe that today’s lifestyle has made people too dependent on malls, which causes them to waste of money and become less active.
In conclusion, shopping malls are now popular places for leisure and socializing, while in the past they were only for shopping and for important accessories . I think this change is both positive and negative, so people should balance their time between malls and buying unnecessary things .

In contrast, just visiting malls while necessary, diminishes the bond, eventually giving them an experience of isolation. For example, when people do not meet their neighbours quite regularly, they may not come forward in times of needs, as they are not familiar with each other.
